IDA Sports Introduces Helia, a Pro-Level Cleat Built for and with Professional Women Athletes

Helia line designed with collaboration from IDA Athlete Council; Helia Pro SG becomes world’s first women's-exclusive soft ground cleat 

NEW YORK (July 9, 2025) — IDA Sports, the first company dedicated exclusively to designing cleats for women, today unveiled the IDA Helia line, a range of cleats built for explosive speed and all-game comfort. Helia marks IDA’s first pro-level offering and advances the brand’s mission to deliver high performance footwear to support female athletes’ biomechanics across three models including Helia Pro, Helia Elite, and Helia Club.

Designed around female foot morphology and validated by the IDA Athlete Council—a testing initiative that allowed pros to give design, fit and performance feedback during the boot’s development—the Helia line is available in Firm Ground (FG) and Soft Ground (SG) models and will be available for purchase at idasports.com starting July 16, with customers able to join the waitlist at the link here.

Science-Driven Design 

The Helia Pro, Helia Elite, and Helia Club cleats all feature the extensive science-backed innovations that IDA is known for. These include optimized stud placement around the bone structure to reduce pressure, a wider toe box for better power transfer, a narrower heel cup to prevent slipping and provide stability during quick movements, and higher arches designed to fit the shape of the female foot.

The Helia Pro, IDA’s most advanced shoe yet, also includes:

Soft-Ground Innovation: Introducing Helia Pro SG 

A groundbreaking boot option, the Helia Pro SG is the first soft-ground cleat designed specifically for women’s foot morphology. Co-created with professional soccer and rugby athletes who require extra grip on wet, muddy fields, Helia Pro SG provides exceptional traction without sacrificing speed. The cleat’s last and stud map are based on biometric data from NWSL players in Orlando, Washington, D.C. and the Bay Area, leading European teams in London, Bristol, Wrexham, Exeter and Waterford, and Premiership Women’s Rugby clubs across England. After its on-field debut at the 2025 Guinness Women’s Six Nations Championship via a collaboration with Guinness, Helia Pro SG is now available to players everywhere.

With the launch of Helia in Pro, Elite, and Club models, the IDA catalog now offers cleats for players of all skill levels, starting with GRLSFIT, the company’s first-ever youth boot released in early 2025, to its iconic Rise line for higher competition and now, IDA Helia.  

The IDA Helia Pro ($259.99), Elite ($154.99) and Club ($94.99) will be available for purchase on idasports.com beginning Wednesday, July 16, and will also be sold at IDA retail partners including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Soccer.com, and select Soccer Post locations starting Wednesday, July 21.
